Friday Night Bench Racing

Well, Friday night didn't go exactly as planned, but GTO enthusiasts are a resourceful bunch!  Originally we had a poker run scheduled for Friday night, but due to "Blackout 2003" we decided that "bench racing" was in order.

The blackout caused a few people to delay their arrival until Saturday, but there were still plenty of GTOs to go around.  The bulk of the GTOs in the lot were provided by (in no particular order) the "Classic GTO Club of Ontario", the "Cruisin' Tigers" of Illinois, the "GTO Association of Central Ohio" and the "Indy GTO Association" from Indiana.

Fortunately the power was restored to the host hotel in the early afternoon which helped our guests get situated and ready for all of the upcoming events.  By the early evening, the discussions about the power outage were gradually being replaced by war stories about the trip to Michigan and old friends becoming reacquainted.

Per usual on Friday afternoon/evening, most participants were gearing up for the activities by giving their GTOs the once-over with sponges and buffing pads.  Despite the cancellation of the poker run, everyone appeared to be more than content to walk around the lot and check out all of the grrreat looking GTOs!
